Hey Reader! I read a fascinating article this week about how we're crowdsourcing asking for advice to strangers on the internet. It feels safer, we don't have to build up so much trust, and we can filter what we like and don't like. But we also don't know whether the people giving us the advice are living lives in shambles or are really qualified. Have they earned the right to give out advice? Have you found yourself following the AITA threads? Do you know what that means?? I didn't. 🤫 Check out this insightful article (from a Christian mom) about how we're crowdsourcing our morality. Feel free to hit reply and let me know what you think! That's all for now! Keeley PS. I can't wait to share with you this amazing blog post on biblical mindset that I'm putting the finishing touches on. It'll be in your inbox next Saturday, if you don't catch it on social media sooner! You don't want to miss it! PPS. The AITA internet phenomenon reflects confusion, the need for community, and opportunities for us to witness as Christians. Verse of the Week
“The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.” - Proverbs 12:15 (NIV)
“Good friend, don’t forget all I’ve taught you;
take to heart my commands. They’ll help you live a long, long time, a long life lived full and well.” - Proverbs 3:1-2 (MSG) The real question is: where do you get your advice? Who do you trust to speak into your life? Are they giving you wise biblical counsel or are just telling you what they thing you want to hear? I find it hard to find wise counselors. Many friends and family just tell you what they hear the culture saying rather than what God would have us discern from his word and a life lived serving him. Take a moment and think about any advice you've received recently. Was it helpful and honoring of God? Was that person giving solid biblical wisdom? Who could you seek out for wisdom in the future? Hey Reader! Oh my goodness. I can't wait to share these life-changing scriptures for feeling and getting more peace in your life! It's perfect for you if you're feeling a bit weary, like I am right now. I'm over-tired, over-busy, over the end of school, and I just want a moment of peace. But I really want peace that lasts and not just for a quick scroll on my phone or a bar of chocolate. This past Thursday celebrated the day that Jesus ascended into heaven, and it really is mind-blowing what...
Hey Reader! Whenever my kids and I see new flowers in bloom, I use it as an opportunity to ask them (or tell them, depending on their age!) what they show us about Jesus and new life. How do spring and Easter show us what new life in Christ is like? Check out my Easter post to see how to make being outside an easy way to share Jesus with your kids. He is risen! Keeley PS. God reminds us each Easter, each spring, each day of what he has done and what he will do. Learn more. Verse of the Week...
Hey Reader! Holy Saturday is a day of waiting and resting (see Verse of Week below). If you're anything like me, it's not restful, but a busy day of preparation. Take some time today and tomorrow to read one or more of the blog posts below to meditate on: the miracle of Jesus' 7 last words (from Good Friday, including what he meant by "Into your hands, I commend my spirit"), how Mary's story turned out way different than she expected (our kids don't always do what we think they will...do...
